Job Description:
The Company
Our client is a successful and fast-growing organisation specialising in high-volume, fast-paced operations within the fulfilment sector. With a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and service delivery, the business continues to expand its national footprint and invest in operational excellence.
Committed to maintaining the highest standards in Health & Safety, compliance, and food safety, the organisation is now looking to appoint a dynamic Warehouse Shift Manager. This is a pivotal role offering a genuine long-term development pathway, with the clear expectation that the successful individual will progress into the Senior Warehouse Manager position within the next three years.
The Role
You will play a hands-on leadership role in managing day-to-day warehouse activities while driving operational performance across two shift patterns. You will provide visible leadership on the warehouse floor, ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-structured working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
*Acting as a working manager, balancing operational duties with strategic oversight.
*Ensuring consistent supervision across all warehouse operating hours (5.30am – 6pm).
*Supporting the Senior Warehouse Manager in meeting operational KPIs, audit requirements, and compliance objectives.
*Enforcing Health & Safety, food safety, BRCGS Storage & Distribution standards, and wider compliance processes.
*Managing HR processes including employee relations, onboarding, training, and retention.
*Maintaining accurate HR and compliance documentation, training matrices, and audit records.
*Conducting regular compliance checks, incident investigations, and continuous improvement activities.
*Leading, motivating, and developing warehouse teams to maintain high standards of performance and engagement.
*Ensuring coordinated shift cover and consistent communication between teams to support seamless operations.
The Person:
We are looking for a highly motivated, ambitious operational leader who is ready to take the next step in their career. You will demonstrate strong people management capability alongside a willingness to stay hands-on and lead from the front.
You will bring:
*Proven experience in warehouse, distribution, logistics, or fast-paced operational environments.
*Strong leadership ability with the confidence to supervise teams and maintain high standards.
*A solid understanding of Health & Safety, food safety, and operational compliance.
*Experience of BRCGS standards (or similar) is highly advantageous.
*Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage teams across shifts.
*A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.
*High levels of drive, ambition, and the desire to progress into senior leadership.
This is an exceptional opportunity for an emerging operational leader to take ownership of a critical function within a growing business and build toward a future Senior Warehouse Manager role.
