Job Description:
An SEN (Special Educational Needs) Learning Mentor supports students with learning hurdles, providing tailored, one-on-one, or small-group assistance to boost confidence, social skills, and academic engagement. They develop individualized strategies, promote positive behaviour, and collaborate with teachers and parents to help students overcome barriers to education.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
*Individualized Support: Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs, such as Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
*Behavioural & Social Support: Promote positive behaviour, help students develop coping mechanisms, and improve emotional well-being.
*Academic Support: Work alongside teachers to implement tailored learning strategies and assist in delivering classroom curriculum in an accessible way.
*Action Planning: Create, implement, and monitor action plans for students, tracking progress over time.
*Liaison: Act as a link between teachers, senior leadership, parents, and outside agencies (e.g., social workers, educational psychologists).
*Inclusion: Ensure a supportive, safe environment for students with diverse needs, including physical disabilities.

*Empathy and Patience: Building trust with young people facing difficult circumstances.
*Communication Skills: Ability to work well with families, teachers, and professionals.
*Adaptability: Creating bespoke approaches for students with differing needs.

*Experience working in a school or care setting.
*Relevant qualifications in education, care, or child development are often preferred.
