Job Title: Chemistry Lecturer (Part-Time)
Location: North London
Working Pattern: Part-Time
Pay Rate: £40/hr
Job DescriptionWe are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Lecturer to join a reputable college in North London on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and support learners studying Chemistry across a range of levels.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver high-quality teaching across Chemistry courses (e.g., GCSE, A-Level, or BTEC Applied Science)
*Plan engaging and interactive lessons aligned with curriculum and awarding body requirements
*Support learners in developing theoretical understanding and practical laboratory skills
*Prepare and supervise laboratory experiments in line with health and safety regulations
*Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on assignments and coursework
*Monitor learner progress and implement targeted support where required
*Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement
*Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes
*Support learners in progressing to higher education, apprenticeships, or careers in STEM fields
Requirements*Relevant qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific field (Degree required)
*Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one
*Experience teaching Chemistry in a Further Education or similar setting
*Strong subject knowledge across key areas of Chemistry (e.g., organic, inorganic, and physical chemistry)
*Understanding of laboratory health and safety standards
*Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills
*Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds
*Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
