Job Title: School Support Worker
Location: Hillingdon, West London
Contract Type: Full-time
About the RoleWe are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Support Worker to join a specialist education setting supporting students aged 16+ with additional learning needs. The role involves working closely with teaching staff to support students in their learning, development and wellbeing, helping them build confidence, independence and skills for adulthood.
Students participate in a variety of academic and vocational activities designed to support their personal development and future employment opportunities. The successful candidate will play an important role in helping students engage with learning and develop practical life skills.
Key Responsibilities*Support students with additional learning needs during classroom and vocational activities
*Provide one-to-one or small group support to help students access learning
*Assist tutors in preparing learning materials and practical sessions
*Encourage the development of independence, confidence and life skills
*Support positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive learning environment
*Assist with off-site learning activities or community-based experiences where required

*Caring, patient and passionate about supporting young people with additional needs
*Able to build positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues
*A strong communicator who works well as part of a team
*Organised, reliable and proactive in supporting learning activities
*Ideally experienced in education, support work, SEND or care (desirable but not essential)
