We are seeking an experienced Solicitor with a strong background in consumer finance redress and high-volume litigation to join the firm in a senior legal leadership role.
This position is ideally suited to a solicitor who has worked extensively on mass consumer redress schemes, including PPI or similar large-scale financial services complaints, and who brings strong civil litigation experience and working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
The successful candidate will play a key role in providing legal, regulatory, and compliance oversight across a large portfolio of consumer finance complaints, ensuring robust governance, consistent decision-making, and strong regulatory standards across the firm’s operations.

The Role
Working in a hybrid setup, with 2 days per week based at our Altrincham office the solicitor will take on a senior oversight and governance role, supporting legal, regulatory, and procedural compliance within a fast-moving, high-volume consumer redress environment.
A key focus of the role will be ensuring that robust compliance frameworks, policies, and controls are applied consistently across client matters, lender engagement, and regulatory obligations.
Key responsibilities include:
*Providing senior legal oversight across large portfolios of consumer finance complaints, specifically car finance claims and other financial services claims in due course.
*Ensuring cases progress in accordance with Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) if applicable, regulatory guidance, and internal governance standards.
*Reviewing lender responses, offers, rejections, and information requests, ensuring the correct legal and procedural approach is followed.
*Acting as a senior escalation point for complex or sensitive complaints and litigation matters.
*Supporting the development and implementation of strong compliance frameworks, governance structures, and operational processes for high-volume claims handling.
*Working closely with operational leadership to ensure efficient, compliant, and well controlled management of large complaint portfolios.
*Interpreting management information (MI) to identify trends, risks, and emerging issues, contributing to reporting for Directors and Board-level decision making.
*Providing guidance, training, and governance oversight to operational and legal teams to maintain consistent legal and regulatory standards.
*Helping shape and strengthen the firm’s legal function, compliance culture, and operational processes as the business continues to grow.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone comfortable working at pace, balancing efficiency with strong legal governance and regulatory compliance.
Essential Experience
*Qualified Solicitor (England & Wales).
*Significant experience in mass consumer redress or high-volume financial services complaints.
*Experience within consumer finance claims environments (e.g. car finance, lending complaints, or similar redress work).
*Strong civil litigation experience.
*Detailed working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR).
*Experience operating within high-volume legal or claims environments.
*Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and governance in consumer finance complaints.
*Experience providing legal oversight, governance, and escalation support across large caseloads or teams.
Desirable Experience
*Experience within claimant litigation firms specialising in consumer finance claims.
*Knowledge of FCA complaint handling rules and DISP requirements.
*Experience building or improving legal operational processes in large-scale claims environments.
