Job Description:
Food Technologist
*Location: Reigate, Surrey (Hybrid, 2 days WFH)
*Job Type: Full-time
*Please note that PSW/Graduate visas cannot be accepted*
Join our team as a Food Technologist, where you will be responsible for the technical management of customer accounts, ensuring their needs and expectations are met in line with our Quality Policy and objectives. This role involves supporting the Technical Manager and providing technical support across the company to retain and gain new business, ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Manage day-to-day technical accounts for customers, including Own Label New Product Development (NPD) from listing to launch and post-launch.
*Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with specifications and Quality Assurance Standards (QAS).
*Handle technical requirements, updates, and changes, ensuring effective communication and implementation.
*Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, meeting their technical, ethical, and CSR requirements.
*Manage and update customers’ technical websites and complete necessary specifications and documentation.
*Organise and attend customer audits and routine meetings, ensuring timely follow-ups and action closures.
*Collaborate with internal teams, factories, and co-manufacturers to meet customer needs and expectations.
*Manage customer complaints efficiently, ensuring issues are logged, investigated, and resolved promptly.
*Participate in cross-functional business projects and propose new, efficient working methods.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Degree in Food Science or equivalent.
*Proven experience in Food Safety (HACCP) and BRC.
*Experience with UK retailers and food services specification systems.
*Strong customer service skills and ability to manage relationships with various stakeholders.
*Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
*Ability to travel within the UK & EU as required.
*Clean driving license
Desirable Skills:
*Knowledge of food labelling legislation.
*2nd European language
