Job Description:
Leaving Care Support Worker (Male Only)
Location: Preston
Salary: £30,000 per annum (including sleep-ins)
Shift Pattern: 1 on, 2 off rota
Are you an experienced Support Worker ready to help young people take their next steps towards independence?
We are recruiting for a Leaving Care Support Worker to support young people transitioning from residential care into independent living. This role is all about building confidence, teaching life skills, and providing consistent, positive support.
Due to the needs of the young people, this role is open to male applicants only.
Key Responsibilities:*Support young people leaving care to develop independence and essential life skills
*Build strong, positive relationships and act as a consistent role model
*Support with daily living tasks such as cooking, budgeting, and attending appointments
*Promote emotional wellbeing and resilience
*Follow care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures
*Maintain accurate records and reports
Requirements:*Level 3 qualification in a relevant care field (essential)
*Experience working with young people in residential or leaving care settings
*Strong understanding of safeguarding and boundaries
*Ability to work a 1 on, 2 off rota including sleep-ins
*Full UK driving licence (desirable)
