Your new role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll take ownership of the full commercial function for a high-profile highways project. Reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage budgets, cost control, and subcontractor relationships while ensuring compliance with NEC contracts.
Key responsibilities include:
*Procuring subcontract packages and compiling tender documentation
*Administering contracts and handling variations, delays, and claims
*Preparing monthly applications for payment and forecasting cash flow
*Leading commercial meetings and maintaining strong client relationships
*Establishing and managing project budgets with accurate cost reporting
What you’ll need to succeed
*Proven experience in senior commercial roles within highways or heavy civils
*Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and cost control processes
*Excellent negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
*Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and build client trust
Professional membership (MRICS/MCICES) and experience in delay analysis and claims preparation are highly desirable.
