THE ORGANISATION
This organisation operates within the not-for-profit, public sector, or corporate domains, serving multiple service areas. They focus on delivering value through strong financial management and reporting. The team is looking for a dedicated management accountant to support their financial operations across various services. *Support financial reporting within multi-service operations
*Maintain compliance with UK GAAP and management reporting standards
*Collaborate with transactional teams to ensure data integrity
*Provide insights and commentary for board reports
*Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
*Work towards long-term financial health and transparency
THE ROLE
This is a temporary Management Accountant role beginning in April 2026, with the potential of becoming permanent. You will be responsible for preparing full management accounts, including narratives for board members, and managing transactional reports for two services initially. The role involves reviewing data, ensuring accuracy, and providing financial insights for decision-makers. Attendance at monthly finance meetings and support for service managers on financial matters are key components.
*Prepare management accounts packs for two services, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries
*Review and validate transactional reports for accuracy and completeness
*Develop clear financial commentary on service performance and variance analysis
*Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
*Contribute to financial reviews and enhance reporting standards
*Attend meetings and liaise with stakeholders to communicate financial performance
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Candidates should have solid management accounting experience and notable skills in financial reporting, analysis, and stakeholder communication. Part-qualified or fully qualified professionals are encouraged to apply.
Mandatory:
*Minimum of 2 years’ experience in management accounting or financial reporting
*Part-qualified or fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA)
*Experience producing management accounts and narrative reports
*Proficiency in Excel, including advanced formulas and pivot tables
*Familiarity with core finance systems like Sage, Xero, SAP, or Oracle
*Strong communication skills for presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders
Preferred:
*Experience working within multi-service or complex organisations
*Knowledge of UK management reporting standards and IFRS or UK GAAP
*Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
*Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence tools
ON OFFER
This role offers a competitive salary around the £45,000 per annum, with working hours from 9:00–4:30 Monday to Thursday and 9:00–3:30 on Friday. The position is based onsite in Renfrewshire, West of Glasgow, with a flexible start date from April 13, 2026. There is a genuine possibility for this temporary role to transition into a permanent position.
