Job Description:
HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver
People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 2 HIAB Driver to join our well-established client based in the Swindon area.
This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.
To be considered for this role, you MUST have a minimum of 24 months of continues commercial driving experience.
Shifts:
*Working 5 days out of 7 (ROTA PROVIDED)
*Start times from 7am , 8am and 11am
Pay rates:
£17.18 - £34.36 per hour

Rates of Hourly Pay (PAYE):
*Basic: £17.18
*Overtime after eight hours: £25.77
*Saturday: £25.77
*Sunday: £34.36
*Bank Holiday: £34.36
Day to Day Duties:
Your duties as a HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver will involve but not be limited to:
* Delivering most building materials and home interior improvements products (not bathrooms and kitchens)
* Operate and drive various Class 2 vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
* Operating a HIAB/lorry-mounted crane safely and efficiently
* Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
* Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
* Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
* Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
* Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
* Assist with loaded and unloading of cargo as needed
Essential Skills:
As a HGV Class 2 Hiab Driver you will need to:
* Must be able to work as a team
* Have a minimum of 24 months continuous experience driving Category C vehicles
* No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
* HIAB (ALLMI) Qualification Card
* Must be able to use PDA (personal digital assistant)
* Hold a valid UK Category C Licence
* Hold a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
* Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
* Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
* Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
* Effective communication skills
Desirable Experience:
* Experience driving any commercial vehicles would be beneficial
* Previous experience with multi drop deliveries will be beneficial
Training:
*Six-hour online training must be completed before attending assessment
*Driver’s Assessment will have to be completed
*After successful Assessment, there will be an on-the-job training
