Job Description:
The Role
We’re working with a well-established and growing business based in the Sittingbourne area, who are looking to bring a Finance Assistant into their friendly and fast-paced team. This is a varied, hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in keeping the finance function running smoothly on a day-to-day basis.


You’ll be supporting across multiple areas including purchase ledger, payroll checks, reconciliations, and month-end processes – ideal for someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in accuracy.

Key Responsibilities


• Monthly supplier statement reconciliations to deadline


• Processing and coding company credit cards


• Recording and tracking monthly mileage


• Weekly processing of stock usage and posting related batches


• Carrying out subcontractor insurance checks


• Supporting with weekly payroll checks


• Processing weekly timesheets accurately and on time


Additional Duties (as required):


• Purchase ledger support including invoice processing and authorisation


• Bank reconciliations


• Sales ledger invoicing and forecasting


• Assisting with month-end processes, including running reports


• Providing cover across the finance team during holidays/absences


• Supporting the team to ensure all month-end deadlines are met


• General ad hoc finance duties


Desirable Skills & Experience


• Previous experience in a finance role, ideally with reconciliations


• Strong Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables)


• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines


• Confident communication skills


• AAT or similar qualification (advantageous but not essential)


Package


• £29,500 per annum


• Full-time, permanent position


• Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30 (40 hours)
