Job Description:
The Company
A growing, multi-site distribution and logistics organisation is undertaking a significant programme of operational modernisation and systems investment. With a strong reputation in its specialist sector and a clear ambition to scale, the business is enhancing its operational capability across warehousing, transport, systems, and customer experience.
To support this next phase of transformation, the company is seeking an influential operational leader who can drive strategic improvement, optimise processes, and enable sustainable growth.
The Role
This newly created role will lead a portfolio of strategic operational projects across warehousing, logistics, systems, and future network design. Acting as a key partner to the senior leadership team, you will identify opportunities for improvement, build robust business cases, and deliver change that enhances efficiency, service quality, and cost-to-serve.
Key areas of remit include:
*Leading cross-functional, multi-site operational improvement initiatives.
*Developing data-driven insights, business cases, and board-level reports.
*Delivering system and process improvements, including WMS optimisation.
*Designing future network structures, postcode routing models, and cost-to-serve analysis.
*Leading labour modelling and shift pattern optimisation.
*Reviewing fleet, MHE and asset performance to inform future investment.
*Evaluating satellite sites and developing recommendations for consolidation, growth, or repurposing.
*Supporting the operational readiness of an evolving e-commerce function.
*Embedding strong change management, communication, and engagement practices across all locations.
This is a strategic leadership role focused on transformation rather than day-to-day operations.
The Person:
The successful candidate will be a proactive, analytical and commercially minded operator with a track record of delivering improvement across warehousing, logistics, transport, or multisite operations. You will bring:
*Strong analytical capability and confidence working with data.
*Excellent systems understanding, ideally with exposure to WMS or TMS environments.
*Experience leading operational or cross-functional projects.
*The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, without relying on authority.
*A calm, structured and collaborative approach to change.
*Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage teams across different sites.
*A passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.
This role would suit someone who is ambitious, strategic, and excited by the opportunity to shape the operational future of a growing business.
