They are seeking an individual to join the business, working within a small team in the laboratory reporting to the team leader. At the start of the production process for customer orders, you will play a key part in maintaining production volumes. You will be required to perform the assessment, matching and testing of colours in a variety of applications that use a range of test methods. When customer orders have been suitably matched, you will issue blend sheets to the production department and work closely with them to ensure that quality standards are in line with the company, and ultimately the customers expectation. The ideal candidate will be either a fresh graduate looking to enter a Scientific field or have a period of employment in a Laboratory environment allowing experience in laboratory methods and procedures. This will be a fantastic opportunity for a someone who has a technical background, qualified in a science related subject, chemistry being the most beneficial.
*Adhering to company procedure of wearing personal protective equipment and always maintaining hygiene rules.
*To ensure the lab is kept to the required standard and related issues are reported immediately.
*To be proficient in all the laboratory techniques that are needed to test colours in all customer applications. Examples of these are:
o Operation of injection moulding machines, Enamel spraying, Screen printing
*Using visual assessment tools.
*Testing for quality control.
*Issue products to operations using purpose-built computer software.
*Liaise with production operators as required throughout the process.
*Liaise with the quality department and commercial teams as required.
*Controlling and monitoring the stock, reusing, and minimising waste as much as possible.
*Organising and matching samples.
*Any other duties as required by Production Management.
This role has a 2 stage in person interview process. The first stage will involve meeting the hiring manager and a senior team member for an initial interview and the following stage will be a laboratory tour and completing some basic tasks.
