Job Description:
Based in Mayfair the fund trades a range of complex/exotic/structured products. The business has north of 20Bn AUM and has offices in London, NY, Singapore and has other offices slated to open in the coming years
The head of fund control is looking for someone with who is currently a senior associate or junior VP equivalent level in either Product Control/IPV of fund control from a complex product background to support the ongoing growth of the business.
The team are working to build and operate a robust framework that can deliver on many areas such as:
• Timely, accurate P&L attribution reconciled to estimates
• Close monitoring of the product valuations against secondary sources
• A reviewed and updated live Valuation policy and associated monitoring framework
• Efficient internal and external communication
Working with the Head of Fund Control and his team, the new hire will have direct involvement in P&L, valuations and fund accounting and reporting in this multi-asset global macro hedge fund. This is an opportunity to use sophisticated financial models, and to build expertise in the valuation and analysis of a broad range of complex instruments (futures, cash and derivatives products across primarily rates and FX, but also including equities, commodities and credit), working with a renowned portfolio manager
Responsibilities will vary by specialism/focus but could include:
• Daily P&L reconciliation and analysis
• Independent Price Verification on the full portfolio
• NAV review and reconciliation with the Fund Administrator
• Regulatory reporting and year-end financials
• Process improvement and automation
• Working with other areas of the business on relevant projects.
The fund is in the office 5 days a week in Mayfair and working hours are typically 8am-6pm. The fund control team work closely with a range of stakeholders, the trading desk, broader finance, middle office, Legal and Investor relations. An excellent compensation package, geared towards to performance, is available.
The fund expect top tier academics- strong A level results and a Russel Group University (or international equivalent) studying STEM subjects. And are looking for someone who is a team player, can engage with a variety of seniority of stakeholders across the firm. The business can support sponsorship but will only consider candidates with the required grades as detailed above.
