About the Role
A leading aviation organisation based at Oxford Airport is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their Customisation & Development team. This team delivers complex, multi-million-pound aircraft retrofit and upgrade projects for customers across emergency services, defence and VIP sectors.
You will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time, on cost and on quality, while working closely with engineering, design, certification and operations teams. This is a key role in a fast-moving, highly regulated environment where strong leadership and structured project control are essential.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple aircraft customisation and retrofit projects (OTOCOQ). [uk.linkedin.com]
*Manage project planning, scheduling, cost control, reporting and governance.
*Drive effective risk and opportunity management across each project. [uk.linkedin.com]
*Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering and technical teams to ensure smooth execution.
*Provide strong stakeholder and customer management across various workstreams.
*Implement and champion PMO processes, methodologies and tools. [uk.linkedin.com]
*Maintain adherence to performance KPIs including SPI, CPI, risk controls and lessons learned.
*Represent projects at internal and external reviews with clear, evidence-based reporting.
Skills & Experience Required
Essential:
*Proven experience delivering complex technical or engineering projects in aviation, aerospace or a closely related environment. [talentify.io]
*Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams and managing full project life cycles.
*Strong project planning, controls and risk management capabilities (including Earned Value). [talentify.io]
*Experience working with government, defence or regulated customers.
*Current SC Clearance (Security Check) – required for this role. [talentify.io]
*Knowledge of EASA, UK CAA or UK MAA regulations.
*Formal project management qualification (APMP, PRINCE2, etc.).
Desirable:
*Background in aviation engineering.
*Experience with Primavera P6 and SAP. [talentify.io]
*Experience with Part 21 (Pt21) environments.
