Probation Service Officers (Band 3) & Probation Officers (Band 4)



We are currently recruiting across the following pay bands within the Probation Service:
Band 3 – Probation Service Officer (PSO)Salary:£23,174 – £28,200
PSOs play a vital role within Family Safeguarding multidisciplinary teams, supporting change for families affected by domestic abuse, mental health challenges, substance misuse, and safeguarding concerns. Working collaboratively, PSOs help assess risk, support case management, engage families using motivational interviewing, and deliver approved interventions.
Band 4 – Probation Officer (PO)Salary:£30,208 – £37,174
POs take on enhanced responsibilities including writing risk assessments, producing court reports, delivering statutory interventions, and jointly managing complex cases. Using the Family Safeguarding model, POs work closely alongside Social Workers, Psychologists, Recovery Workers and other specialists to drive positive outcomes for children and families.
Driving: Driving licence requiredFull time : 08:30 - 5pm
About the TeamFamily Safeguarding teams work with Children in Need, children on Child Protection Plans, and families where safeguarding risks are present. Using a strengths-based, motivational approach, the team supports parents to make sustainable changes and keep children safely at home wherever possible.
