Are you a proactive, commercially minded finance professional looking to step into a strategic, high-impact role within a leading independent education group? This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation that educates over 2500 pupils and is renowned for its inclusive community, rich heritage, and exceptional all-round educational offering.They are seeking a dynamic Assistant Finance Business Partner to join their collaborative Finance Team. Working closely with the Finance Business Partner and senior leaders across the organisation, you will play a key role in supporting financial planning, performance analysis, and strategic decision-making.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a varied, stakeholder-focused role and is motivated by the challenge of supporting a complex, multi-faceted educational environment.Key Responsibilities
*Support the Finance Business Partner in delivering insightful financial analysis and reporting
*Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
*Provide clear, data-driven advice to non-financial stakeholders across academic and operational departments
*Contribute to the development of a sustainable financial model that supports the organisation’s strategic goals
*Help drive improvements in financial processes, systems, and controls
*Build strong, trusted relationships across the organisation, acting as a credible and approachable finance contact
What you’ll need to succeed
We’re looking for someone who brings both technical strength and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will be:
*Part-qualified or newly qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent
*Analytical, curious, and confident working with complex data
*Comfortable influencing and advising stakeholders at all levels
*Commercially aware, with an understanding of the financial dynamics of independent schools (or a willingness to learn)
*Proactive, organised, and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
*Passionate about contributing to an organisation with a meaningful educational mission
