OverviewWe are partnering with a leading consultancy to recruit a Sustainability Consultant for their Manchester studio. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking team delivering sustainable solutions across a broad range of high-profile projects.
You’ll be involved in a variety of sectors including commercial workplace, healthcare, education, residential, sport, and leisure. Working within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, you’ll contribute to shaping innovative and environmentally responsible design strategies.

The Role*Work closely with clients and internal teams to develop and implement sustainability strategies

*Carry out environmental assessments and provide practical, data-driven recommendations

*Track and report on sustainability performance across projects

*Support continuous improvement in environmental performance across both projects and operations

*Engage in ongoing learning and development through training, mentoring, and CPD activities

*Contribute to a collaborative team culture through participation in studio and company-wide initiatives

Key Responsibilities*Develop sustainability strategies, including frameworks for monitoring and reporting performance

*Deliver net zero carbon studies and advisory services

*Provide guidance on NABERS and wider ESG requirements

*Lead or support environmental certification processes such as BREEAM, LEED, SKA, and WELL

*Carry out life cycle assessments using tools such as One Click LCA

*Support compliance with environmental standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 50001

*Keep up to date with evolving legislation, policy, and industry trends to inform project delivery

About You*Experience within sustainability consultancy in the built environment

*Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and industry drivers

*Track record of delivering sustainability strategies and certification processes

*Familiarity with key frameworks and tools including BREEAM, LEED, WELL, NABERS, SKA, and LCA software

*Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
