Job Description:
Your new company
Hays are proud to partner with a wide network of primary schools across the Coventry area. These schools value flexibility, reliability and high-quality teaching, and they offer supportive environments where supply teachers are made to feel part of the team. Whether you prefer the variety of day-to-day work or the stability of longer-term placements, you will be joining schools that prioritise positive relationships, strong communication and a shared commitment to helping children succeed.
We are currently looking for adaptable and confident primary supply teachers who can work across year groups they feel comfortable with, providing cover as needed throughout the Coventry area.
Your new role
*Delivering engaging and purposeful lessons across a range of, or specific year groups, following school plans and ensuring continuity for pupils.
*Adapting quickly to different classroom environments and routines, maintaining a calm and positive learning atmosphere.
*Supporting pupils’ learning and wellbeing, ensuring they remain motivated and on track during teacher absence.
*Working collaboratively with school staff to ensure smooth transitions and consistent expectations.
*Demonstrating professionalism, flexibility and a proactive approach to each placement, whether for a single day or a longer-term assignment.
What you’ll need to succeed
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Experience teaching in primary settings, with confidence to work in the year groups of your choice.
*Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships quickly.
*A flexible, adaptable approach and the confidence to step into new classrooms with ease.
*Excellent communication skills and a commitment to supporting pupils’ learning wherever you are placed.
What you’ll get in return
*Competitive pay, aligned to your experience and the nature of each placement.
*The freedom to choose the type of work that suits you - day-to-day, short-term or longer-term cover.
*Access to a wide range of professional development opportunities, including free CPD courses and webinars through the Hays learning platform.
*Easy-to-use digital tools to manage timesheets, book holidays, access training and explore wellbeing resources via the Hays App.
*Referral bonuses - earn £250 in vouchers when you refer a friend who completes 20 days of work with Hays.
