Accounts Payable Assistant
Solihull | Minimum 3 Days in Office | Up to £30,000 | Permanent
A thriving business based in Solihull, conveniently located near Birmingham Business Park, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join their growing finance team. This role is ideal for someone with strong purchase ledger or accounts payable experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and delivering accurate, high-quality work.
As the Accounts Payable Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the purchase ledger and wider finance function. Your responsibilities will include:
*Processing high volumes of purchase invoices accurately and efficiently
*Matching, batching and coding invoices
*Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
*Handling supplier queries promptly and professionally
*Performing bank reconciliations and assisting with preparation for month-end tasks
*Ensuring all financial records are maintained and up to date
*Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc duties as required
We’re looking for someone who has:
*Previous experience in purchase ledger, accounts payable, or finance administration (essential)
*Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
*Good understanding of finance processes and reconciliations
*Confident communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal colleagues
*Competent accountancy software systems experience, (SAP advantageous) and Excel skills
*Ability to work from the Solihull office a minimum of 3 days per week
