Senior Quality Inspector
We’re seeking an experienced Senior Quality Inspector to join a precision engineering/manufacturing environment. This hands-on role oversees inspection activity, ensures product quality, and supports continuous improvement across production.
Key Responsibilities
*Lead daily inspection activities including first-off, in-process, and final inspections.
*Carry out fine limit sheet metal inspection using a range of measuring equipment.
*Interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
*Maintain inspection records, non-conformance reports and inspection plans.
*Mentor junior inspectors and support resource planning on the shop floor.
*Work within ISO 9001 standards and assist with audits.
*Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
*Ensure measuring equipment calibration and maintenance.
*Provide clear quality reports to production and management teams.
Skills & Experience
*5+ years in an ISO 9001 manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
*Strong fine limit sheet metal inspection experience.
*Proven background in senior/lead inspection roles.
*Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and GD&T.
*Proficient with manual inspection tools; CMM experience beneficial.
*Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving and communication skills.
*Experience coaching or guiding small teams.
Desirable
*Formal quality/inspection qualifications (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.).
*Knowledge of SPC or quality software systems.
