Primary Teaching Assistant

Pay: £100 - £115 per day
Veritas Education is proud to be partnering with a warm and inclusive primary school in Lewisham to recruit a dedicated and compassionate Primary Teaching Assistant for an Easter 2026 start.
This OFSTED-rated ’Good’ school is known for its nurturing environment and strong focus on pupils’ academic achievement, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth. In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to provide targeted 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils engage with learning, build confidence, and thrive within the classroom.
This opportunity is ideal for a patient, proactive, and empathetic individual who is passionate about supporting children, including those with additional needs, in a supportive school setting.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
*Experience supporting children in a primary school setting (essential)

*Understanding of strategies to support learning, communication, and behaviour

*A calm, caring, and resilient approach

*Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team

Key Responsibilities:
*Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions

*Support the class teacher with differentiated learning activities

*Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development

*Use creative and engaging approaches to support learning

*Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the class teacher and SENCO

*Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
