Hays are delighted to be working with a diverse and welcoming two-form entry primary school located in Coventry. The school is looking for a dedicated Year 5 teacher to cover a period of maternity leave beginning after the Easter break and continuing until the end of the academic year with an option to extend. This is a full-time position with full class teacher responsibilities.


Your new role
*Delivering well-structured, engaging and ambitious lessons for a Year 5 class, ensuring pupils are motivated and supported to achieve their best.
*Working closely with your year-group partner to ensure consistency, shared planning and high-quality provision across the phase.
*Following the school’s curriculum while adapting teaching to meet the needs of all learners, including those who may require additional support or challenge.
*Monitoring progress, maintaining accurate assessment records and providing purposeful feedback to help pupils make strong progress.
*Contributing positively to the wider life of the school and demonstrating professionalism, flexibility and a commitment to the school’s values.



What you’ll need to succeed
*Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
*Experience teaching in primary settings, ideally within Key Stage 2.
*Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
*Secure curriculum knowledge and the ability to deliver high-quality, engaging teaching.
*Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues, pupils and families.
