Job Description:
A fantastic opportunity for an Electrical Shift Leader to join a critical flag ship site based in Liverpool Street. This is a high profile site offering the opportunity of progression and training courses such as being put through High Voltage training, this role is also offering the chance to work for a leading building services provider.
As the Electrical Shift Leader, you will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative and reactive maintenance across all electrical systems and related mechanical equipment on site. You will supervise a shift engineer, coordinate specialist subcontractors, perform high-voltage switching operations, and serve as a primary point of contact for the client while reporting directly to the Account Manager.
Key Responsibilities
*Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on electrical and mechanical plant equipment
*Operate, maintain, and fault-find on a wide range of systems, including:
*Single and three-phase power systems
*Motors and generators (including on/off load testing)
*UPS systems
*LV/HV switchgear, switching operations, and shutdowns
*Emergency lighting and fire alarm systems
*AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, and CRAC units
*Sprinkler systems, pumps, belts, bearings, and seals
*Building Management Systems (BMS)
*Safely isolate plant and systems in accordance with current health and safety regulations
*Ensure all remedial and corrective works are completed in line with statutory requirements and site standards
*Promote safe working practices, high-quality standards, and industry best practice
*Coordinate and supervise specialist subcontractors on site
*Accurately complete logbooks, RAMS, reports, and permit-to-work documentation
*Manage and update tasks using PDA systems, ensuring jobs are raised and closed efficiently
*Communicate effectively with client representatives regarding maintenance activities and site issues
Requirements
*Fully qualified in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Installations (City & Guilds, NVQ, EAL, or equivalent)
*Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial building maintenance
*Demonstrated ability to lead and support an engineer within a shift environment
*Strong client-facing skills with clear and confident communication
*In-depth knowledge of commercial electrical and mechanical plant systems
Salary & Package
*£58,000 – £60,000 per annum
*Continental shift pattern (days and nights)
