Accounts Payable Assistant

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Assistant to support our finance department. This role is ideal for candidates currently studying AAT or pursuing a finance-related degree, looking to develop their skills in invoice processing, payment management, and financial record keeping.
In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our Accounts Payable function, while gaining hands-on training in key financial procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Invoice Processing
*Receive, verify, and process supplier invoices.
*Ensure invoices are accurately matched to purchase orders.
*Enter invoice details into the accounting system in a timely and accurate manner.
Payment Processing
*Prepare and process supplier payments ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
*Assist with bank reconciliations.
*Monitor bank accounts and authorise online payments in line with company processes.
Record Keeping
*Maintain accurate and organised records of invoices, payments, and supplier details.
*File and manage financial documents in accordance with company policy.
Additional Duties
*Assist with month-end procedures and reporting requirements.
*Handle supplier and internal department queries professionally.
*Support cash flow reporting activities.
*Carry out other reasonable duties as directed by the Accounts Payable Coordinator.
Skills & Qualifications
*Currently studying towards AAT or a degree in finance.
*1–2 years of experience in a similar role within a reputable company.
