The Role… Teaching Assistant for Trauma Impacted Looked After Children

Working within a small, specialist school designed for Looked After Children who have experienced early trauma, you will provide vital classroom support. You will help pupils to succeed within an educational setting by using a therapeutic approach to behaviour, teaching, and learning.
The school caters for students across Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4 and delivers a broad, balanced curriculum. A strong pastoral approach is essential-your role will involve supporting students to re-engage with education while promoting emotional wellbeing and positive self-regulation.
You’ll Be…
* A qualified Teaching Assistant or experienced Residential Support Worker, with a background supporting young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or additional needs
* Skilled in working with children who display challenging behaviour and have experienced trauma
* A strong communicator, able to engage students and maintain their focus
* Passionate about encouraging wellbeing, independence, and positive social development
