Automotive Service Receptionist / Service Advisor

The Role
We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Service Receptionist / Service Advisor to be the friendly, professional face of ML Autos. You’ll be the first point of contact for our customers — managing bookings, communicating vehicle updates, and ensuring every visit runs smoothly.
*Location: Unit 1, Ashley Industrial Estate, Leeds Road, Huddersfield
*Salary: £25,000 – £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
*Hours: Monday – Friday 8am–5pm, Saturday 8am–12pm
*Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Key Responsibilities
*Greet customers and manage front-of-house professionally
*Handle phone, email, and walk-in enquiries
*Book vehicles in for service, MOT, repairs, and diagnostics
*Liaise between customers and technicians to relay job updates
*Provide accurate estimates and confirm costs before work begins
*Upsell relevant services in an honest, customer-first manner
*Maintain accurate records using garage management software (Techman)
*Ensure a smooth customer journey from drop-off to collection
What We’re Looking For
*2+ years experience in an automotive service reception or service advisor role
*Strong communication and customer service skills
*Organised, reliable, and able to manage a busy workshop diary
*Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes
*Comfortable discussing costs and timelines with customers
*A positive, can-do attitude that fits our honest, expert team culture
*Knowledge of EV/Hybrid vehicles is a bonus but not essential
