Job Description:
Our client, a high-growth and well-established technology business, is seeking a detail-oriented and commercially aware Revenue Accountant to join its Finance team.
This is a high-profile role within the finance function, responsible for ensuring revenue is accurately recorded, reliably forecast and supported by robust financial controls as the business continues to scale.
Working closely with the Finance Director and key operational stakeholders, you will play a central role in strengthening revenue reporting, identifying potential revenue leakage and improving the systems and processes underpinning revenue recognition and forecasting.
The RoleReporting directly to the Finance Director, you will support the accurate recording, reconciliation and forecasting of revenue across the Group.
You will collaborate closely with Sales, Billing, Order Management and Project Management teams to ensure commercial activity is reflected accurately within financial reporting.
Key ResponsibilitiesRevenue Accounting*Prepare and post month-end revenue journals within NetSuite
*Maintain accrued and deferred revenue schedules
*Reconcile revenue-related P&L and balance sheet accounts
*Produce clear audit-ready working papers
*Investigate and explain variances between actual and forecast revenue
Revenue Forecasting*Maintain and develop revenue forecasting models
*Update forecasts at contract level using operational inputs
*Ensure assumptions are clearly documented
*Reconcile forecasts to NetSuite and billing data
*Identify opportunities to improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency
Commercial & Operational Coordination*Act as a key liaison between Finance and operational teams
*Interpret contract terms and delivery milestones
*Translate operational updates into financial impact
*Support billing processes and identify revenue leakage
*Coordinate with Legal and Billing on contractual matters
Insight & Continuous Improvement*Provide revenue analysis to support budgeting
*Respond to audit queries and escalate where required
*Improve revenue controls, reporting clarity and process efficiency
About You*Part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA), AAT qualified or equivalent
*2:1 OR above Degree
*3–5 years’ experience in revenue accounting, forecasting or management accounts
*Strong Excel capability (pivot tables, lookups, validation)
*Experience with financial modelling and data analysis
*Strong reconciliation and analytical skills
*Highly organised with a methodical approach
*Confident communicator, able to work across multiple teams
Desirable:
*Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP systems
*Exposure to revenue recognition (accruals, deferrals)
*Experience within a SaaS or technology environment
