The Job You’ll Do:
*Specialising more in the regulatory compliance side of getting a product approved.
*Testing products to ensure they meet all of the regulatory requirements needed for CE and UL certification
*Read, understand, keep updated on all relevant regulatory standards relevant to our product ranges and desired applications (EMC standards, Electrical safety standards, Functional safety standards, UL/CSA)
*Development requirements to design and test products
*Understand the regulatory test methods/conditions and create test cases to be performed on our products
*Create test plans
*Organize and pull together all equipment, loads, wiring etc. needed to perform the tests.
*Set up and perform the testing
*Occasional travel for final full compliance testing when using an external test house
*Capture all test results and create traceability reports, determining pass/fail status
*Liaise with external test houses and/or approval bodies to discuss/plan and quote blocks of compliance testing.
*Commission, Debug electronic circuits, components and PCB assemblies for new product development and projects.
*Design, setup and run tests to ensure the design meets specifications.
*Maintain records and documentation on all tests and analysis.
*Use industry standard development systems to achieve traceability and cross referencing
*Work within a small design team to complete assigned objectives.
*Troubleshoot circuits from prototypes, development, and customer returns.
*Be the key interface for overall system validation and alignment on test plans
*Work with Engineering to improve validation tests and to define criteria for entry into Validation phase.
*Establish a disciplined reporting and communication dashboard of project risks & status with respect to quality and readiness for release.
*Improve the scope and coverage of automated tests
About You:
*Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (preferably with bias towards power electronics).
*3 years hands-on experience in a Test and/or QA Validation, Compliance or Approval role at system level
*Experience of regulatory standards and test methods for Electronics product validation/compliance/approvals
*Practical competency in working with external test houses and practical test experience.
*EMC, Water ingress, vibration, environmental testing experience
*Able to carry out practical testing as well as planning and documentation
*Experience of working with power electronic systems
*Knowledge of switching power converters.
*Knowledge of circuit analysis, and design of experiments.
*Knowledge and experience in applicable product regulatory standards
*Willingness to travel to external test laboratory’s occasionally
*PC literate with experience in MS Office and databases (good and thorough documentation skills)
