We’re supporting a growing international logistics business looking to appoint an Assistant Accountant into a varied, practical finance role. This position offers exposure across transactional finance and month-end activity, making it well suited to someone developing their accounting career while studying.

*Experience working in a finance team, ideally within an SME environment
*Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
*Commercial mindset and interest in operationally driven businesses
THE ROLE
*Collate and account for third-party operational costs
*Support storage billing and revenue processes
*Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts
*Perform regular bank reconciliations
*Prepare and submit monthly VAT returns
*Provide cover across AP and AR when required
*Maintain accurate financial records and supporting schedules
*Assist with month-end close activities
*Liaise with operational teams to ensure cost accuracy
*Support process improvements within finance
*Contribute to ad-hoc reporting and analysis
*Help maintain strong financial controls
YOUR PROFILE
*Actively studying towards AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
*Effective communicator – written & verbal
*Good working knowledge of MS Excel
*Comfortable working across both transactional and month-end processes
*Positive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail
