Health, Safety & Compliance Consultants

Overview
Our client is an innovative and highly regarded Health & Safety and Facilities Management consultancy, currently seeking two Health, Safety & Compliance Consultants to join their growing team. These are distinct positions suited to candidates with different backgrounds and specialisms - one focused on broad H&S consultancy, and the other with a specific emphasis on Fire Safety and Compliance.
In both roles, you will not be the typical safety police. You will be a problem-solver with a creative mindset, someone clients genuinely enjoy seeing - inspiring others rather than being feared. You will help clients understand that well-developed safety systems are a business benefit, not a business cost.
Purpose of the Roles
Supporting clients across a range of sectors, you will be responsible for delivering an outstanding H&S consultancy service - offering expert advice and guidance to help clients manage and reduce health and safety risks in their workplaces, while providing best-practice support to improve internal H&S processes.
Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities apply to both positions:
Conduct site visits, inspections and compliance audits to identify potential hazards and risks in the workplace.
Provide onsite or remote H&S management and consultancy support.
Develop and implement bespoke health and safety processes and procedures that comply with current UK legislation and industry standards.
Provide expert advice to clients on risk assessments, accident investigations, compliance and emergency planning.
Deliver health and safety awareness programmes to promote a strong safety culture within client organisations.
Assist clients in achieving relevant health and safety certifications such as ISO 45001.
Successfully build and manage client relationships to promote the organisation and encourage new business opportunities.
Ensure consistent delivery of standards across all clients, projects and offices.
In addition, the Fire & Compliance Consultant will:
Carry out Fire Risk Assessments and fire-specific compliance inspections as a core element of the role.
Skills and Experience
The following skills and experience are required for both positions:
Previous experience working in Health & Safety with a proven track record of delivering high-quality advice and support.
Strong knowledge of UK health and safety regulations and industry best practices.
Experience completing H&S audits and implementing action plans.
Ability to interpret and communicate health and safety issues clearly to third parties.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with outstanding attention to detail.
Excellent working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Project.
Ability to work autonomously and flexibly in response to business needs.
Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the South East when required.
Understanding of a variety of working cultures, professions, businesses and industries.
