Job Description:
Sales Manager – Crushing & Screening Equipment
Location: Central & South Scotland
Employment Type: Full-Time, Field-Based
The Company
We are an established UK-based supplier of heavy plant and machinery supporting customers across construction, demolition, recycling, materials handling, and related industrial sectors. The business provides end-to-end equipment solutions, including new and used machinery, technical support, and aftersales services, with a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and long-term customer partnerships.
Operating nationally through regional teams, the organisation promotes a collaborative culture, values technical expertise, and offers genuine opportunities for career development within a stable and growing business.
The Role
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sales Manager to take ownership of a defined territory across Central and South Scotland. This is a senior, field-based role focused on the sale of complete crushing, screening, and shredding machinery.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business, managing a portfolio of existing customers, and delivering revenue through high-value capital equipment sales. This role requires a commercially astute individual comfortable managing long sales cycles, complex negotiations, and customer relationships at multiple levels.
Key Responsibilities
*Sell new and used crushing, screening, and shredding machinery, along with relevant attachments and solutions
*Own the full end-to-end machinery sales cycle: prospecting, specification, demonstration, quotation, commercial negotiation, order placement, delivery coordination, and handover
*Manage and grow an established customer base through regular site visits and proactive relationship management
*Prepare accurate, commercially sound quotations using internal systems
*Lead customer negotiations, including pricing, lead times, specifications, and trade-in valuations
*Liaise closely with internal sales support, workshop, production, and logistics teams to ensure machines are delivered on time and to specification
*Monitor pipeline activity, stock availability, and delivery schedules using internal reporting tools
*Attend industry exhibitions, demonstrations, and customer events as required
Essential Experience & Requirements
*Proven experience selling complete heavy machinery or capital equipment (not parts-only, consumables, or service-led sales)
*Track record of success in high-value, long-sales-cycle machinery deals
*Background selling into sectors such as construction, demolition, recycling, quarrying, aggregates, or similar industrial markets
*Strong commercial awareness with the ability to manage complex negotiations and margin-led discussions
*Confident IT user, comfortable working with CRM, quoting, and reporting tools
*Full UK driving licence
*Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory
Personal Attributes
*Self-motivated, organised, and results-driven
*Strong communicator with the ability to build long-term customer relationships
*Professional, credible, and commercially minded
*Team player who collaborates effectively with internal departments
Important Note
This position is specifically focused on capital equipment and whole-machine sales. It will not be suitable for candidates whose experience is primarily in spare parts, consumables, or aftermarket-only sales roles.
