Job Description:
We are currently seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed tutor to support a Year 1 young person who has been out of education since Summer Term 2025 and now needs a carefully paced, relationship-led return to learning.

This role is ideal for someone who understands that SEMH support must come before academics. The focus initially will be on building trust, confidence, and emotional safety, with Maths and English introduced gradually when the young person is ready.

Role Details
Year Group: Year 1
Subjects: Maths & English (introduced slowly)
Hours: 10 hours per week
Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Location: BH20

Suitable venues may include a public library, café, or community space if sessions were to venture outside the home

We’re keen to hear from tutors who:
- Have experience supporting students with SEMH needs, trauma, or school avoidance
- Take a relationship- first, child-led approach
- Are patient, calm, and emotionally attuned
- Can create a safe, supportive environment before academic expectations
- Are confident delivering KS1 Maths and English when appropriate

This is a truly rewarding opportunity to help a young person re-engage with learning and rebuild belief in themselves.
If this sounds like something you’d be interested in-or if you’d like to discuss the role in more detail-please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
