Finance Assistant

Location: Liverpool

An established, forward-thinking organisation based in Liverpool are looking for a highly organised and experienced Finance Assistant to join its team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys taking ownership of day-to-day finance operations and supporting senior management with accurate reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
*Complete monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all transactions are accurately allocated and understood
*Produce weekly and monthly management reports
*Prepare bank payment runs and carry out reconciliations
*Maintain ledgers in Sage for management and statutory accounting purposes
*Credit control, including chasing outstanding debts and escalating where appropriate
*Prepare and submit VAT returns
*Reconcile bank statements weekly and credit card statements monthly
*Process purchase invoices and company credit card transactions
*Ensure creditors are paid on time while actively managing daily cashflow
*Process weekly timesheets accurately and on time
*Work closely with the wider business to resolve credit control issues
*Support Directors with month-end reporting, focusing on working capital and reducing debtor days
Candidate Requirements
*Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role
*Experience with finance software, ideally Sage 50
*AAT qualification or equivalent
*Strong IT skills, including experience with Excel
*Excellent data entry accuracy and attention to detail
*Strong communication and organisational skills
*Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines
