Senior Practice Accountant
*Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000
*Location: Barrow-in-Furness
*Job Type: Hybrid (1 day from home once established)
Join an established and friendly accountancy practice based in Barrow-in-Furness as a Senior Practice Accountant. This role offers a stable environment within a long-standing practice that prioritises staff wellbeing and a supportive culture.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Prepare draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies up to partner review level.
*Prepare tax computations for individuals and businesses.
*Support clients with bookkeeping and VAT returns as required.
*Utilise cloud and desktop accounting software including Sage Line 50, Sage Business Cloud, QuickBooks, and Xero.
*Communicate confidently with clients and build strong working relationships.
*Assimilate information from less well-organised clients.
*Support and review the work of junior team members.
*Work closely with partners and contribute to the smooth running of the practice.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Experience working within an accountancy practice in a similar role.
*Comfortable preparing accounts and tax computations independently.
*Proficient in using accounting software (Sage essential; Xero/QuickBooks advantageous).
*Strong client-facing and communication skills.
*A team player who enjoys supporting others and contributing to a positive office environment.
