Operational Accountant
Liverpool City Centre
Salary: Up to £34,000
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 1 day remote
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm

Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operational Accountant to join a dynamic finance team based in Liverpool City Centre. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about process improvement, stakeholder collaboration and financial control.You will play a key role in the day-to-day operational accounting function while supporting continuous improvement across finance processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
*Manage and maintain strong relationships with banking partners
*Perform daily bank reconciliations, ensuring system balances are accurate
*Oversee daily payment processes, ensuring compliance with agreed SLAs
*Assist in preparing monthly reporting packs, including KPIs
*Lead credit control activities, maintaining appropriate levels of aged debt
*Support interest sharing processes and reporting requirements
*Review and enhance operational accounting processes to improve efficiency
*Contribute to continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures
*Support finance-related projects, ensuring cost control and compliance
Skills & Experience
*Proven experience in a strong financial control environment
*Experience working with multiple banking platforms
*High attention to detail and accuracy
*Strong Microsoft Excel skills (advanced level preferred)
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
*Proactive, adaptable and solutions-focused
*Strong problem-solving skills
Team Collaboration & Development
*Work closely with wider teams to drive process improvements and efficiencies
