Job Description:
We are looking for a confident, proactive and customer-focused Neighbourhood Response Officer for Clarion Housing to help create safe, welcoming and well-managed neighbourhoods across the Birmingham and Walsall area. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the community, offering the opportunity to make a real difference to residents’ day-to-day lives.
Temporary contract – 6 months

Birmingham and Walsall

£18.43 per hour PAYE or £23.34 per hour Umbrella
Job summary:
Working closely with colleagues, residents and partner organisations, you will take responsibility for neighbourhood management, tackling tenancy-related issues, addressing anti-social behaviour and ensuring estates are clean, safe and well maintained. This role offers a varied workload where no two days are the same.
You will split your time between home working, office-based duties and regular travel across the local area. Due to the nature of the role, access to your own vehicle is essential.
Your role will include developing and delivering neighbourhood plans and local offers, carrying out regular estate inspections with a strong focus on fire safety and risk management, and working alongside residents’ groups to support community activities, facilities and events. You will collaborate with local partners such as safer neighbourhood teams and youth services to address neighbourhood safety concerns and anti-social behaviour, while liaising internally with other departments to coordinate improvements and services.
You will also visit customers who are in breach of their tenancy or lease conditions, provide support to vulnerable residents and assess their ongoing tenancy needs. The role may involve representing the organisation in court, preparing witness statements and supporting eviction processes where required. You will carry out property condition checks and play a key role during major incidents, including supporting tenant decants.
To be successful, you will have proven experience of delivering excellent customer service and feel confident dealing with customers face-to-face. You will be comfortable working with a range of external partners, managing work against plans and targets, and using sound judgement to respond effectively to urgent situations and major incidents. A strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion is essential.
This role requires regular travel across the region and flexibility to work early evenings and occasional weekends.
In return, you will receive a competitive hourly rate, full training and the opportunity to work in a dynamic, community-focused role where your work genuinely makes a difference. Flexible working is supported, with a balance of home and office-based work.
If you have the required experience and skill set apply now for immediate consideration.
