Job Description:
As a flavour technologist, your work will be focused on ready-to-mix supplement beverages. This includes drinks such as protein powders, pre workouts, amino acid drinks and other functional RTM beverages. As the business grows your value will expand into ready to drink functional beverages.

This opportunity is with a leading global supplier of ingredients and premix manufacturing solutions and trusted by the world’s best-known food, beverage, and nutrition brands.
Description
*Work on end-to end development of RTM beverages, from assessing the active ingredients and their interactions to using our internal and external flavours.
*Build relationships with flavour suppliers and industry specialists to gain raw material, legislative and processing knowledge.
*Build relationships with customers to best understand their expectations and final processing steps if applicable. Attend customer meetings to provide and note project updates.
*Maintaining the development lab ingredient and flavour library to ensure materials are readily available.
*Investigate regulatory compliance for ingredients being used in concepts based on the country the product will be marketed in.
*Continuously build expertise on functional ingredients and keep up to date with trending flavour profiles and trending sports and nutritional products in the market.
*Prepare samples for customer submissions and manage sending samples to customers.
*Noting feedback from customers and amending flavour profiles accordingly.
*Update the formulation system with prototype flavour systems for cost indications.
*Hold sign-off sessions with cross functional departments once a flavour profile has been approved.
*Where required, assist in advising quality assurance checks post production.
*Where required, attend first production to ensure the manufacturing site fully understands the specification that the product must be produced to.
*Attend trade shows to understand the market and develop customer and supplier relationships.
Profile
A successful Flavour Technologist should have:
*BSC in Food Science, Food Chemistry or related field.
*1-2 years working in beverage development - have confidence in unit conversions and formulating.
*Excellent taste buds and a talent for creating delicious functional drinks.
*Efficient working method with effective prioritising skills - able to work on multiple projects and meet various timelines.
*Previous experience flavour technologist is desirable not essential
*Effective communicator of technical information to internal and external stakeholders.
*Creative mindset and passionate about food and drink.
