Job Opportunity: SEMH Temporary Teaching Assistant - Immediate Start
Location: Dartford
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Temporary-Long term
We are currently recruiting an experienced Teaching Assistant to join the team at a school supporting children aged 5-19 with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity for skilled and resilient professionals who are passionate about making a real difference in young people’s lives. Successful candidates who integrate well into the team may be considered for a permanent position.
About the Role:
*Support students with SEMH needs in both group and 1:1 settings
*Implement personalised behaviour strategies
*Foster positive relationships with students and staff
*Maintain a calm, consistent, and proactive approach
*Collaborate closely with teaching staff and the wider team
Essential Criteria:
*Proven experience working with children or young people - ideally in SEMH or similar settings
*Confident, adaptable, and able to hit the ground running
*Strong communication skills (verbal and non-verbal)
*Ability to build trust quickly with students and staff
*Resilience in challenging environments; calm under pressure
*Excellent behaviour management skills
*Reliable, proactive, and a team player
