Job Description:
Senior Commercial Manager
*Location: Wythenshawe, M23
*Job Type: Full-time, 35.25 hours per week
*Flexibility: On-site with opportunities for site visits and work from Trafford Town Hall
*Day rate: £600 per day Umbrella. Inside IR35.
*Length of role: Initial 3 months
Join Trafford Council in a pivotal role as a Senior Commercial Manager within the Highways, Transport and Environment (HTE) team. This strategic position focuses on managing commercial aspects and contracts, particularly with our partner, Amey. You will play a crucial role in delivering services that impact residents, businesses, and visitors across the borough.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
*Lead the commercial management of the One Trafford Partnership, focusing on the Highway Construction Capital Programme and extending to various service areas.
*Ensure projects and services meet quality standards and are delivered within time and cost constraints.
*Review and enhance processes and procedures, implementing changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
*Conduct financial analysis, oversee procurement activities, and manage project budgets to ensure fiscal responsibility.
*Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify risks, opportunities, and implement strategic solutions.
*Act as the Council’s client representative during various project stages, ensuring alignment with budget, quality standards, and timelines.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Chartered status with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or a related construction-based degree with relevant experience.
*Extensive experience in senior commercial or contract management roles, preferably within local government or related sectors.
*Proven track record of effective project management from inception to completion.
*Strong negotiation skills and experience managing complex contracts.
*Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across various levels of an organisation.
*Ability to drive and access to a vehicle, as travel to various sites within the Trafford Borough is required.
