An established manufacturing organisation based in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an experienced Production Planner to support operational performance and customer delivery.
This is a hands-on role offering strong cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to influence day-to-day production outcomes.
Your RoleYou’ll ensure production plans are converted into realistic, achievable schedules that align capacity, materials, and demand, while providing clear visibility of risks and performance.
Key Responsibilities*Manage a 6–8 week rolling production schedule
*Translate high-level plans into detailed production schedules
*Work closely with purchasing to ensure material availability
*Identify and communicate supply or capacity constraints
*Monitor daily production performance
*Maintain ERP/MRP system accuracy
*Support sales order re-dating
*Attend production meetings and provide schedule updates
*Flag risks to delivery and recommend solutions
*Monitor schedule adherence and KPIs
*Support forecasting and data integrity
*Coordinate new product introductions and changeovers
*Ensure accurate and timely production documentation
*Contribute to planning and system improvements
What We’re Looking For*Proven experience in production planning or scheduling
*Manufacturing environment experience
*Strong ERP/MRP system knowledge
*Confident Excel and MS Office user
*High attention to detail
*Strong communication skills
*Comfortable working in a fast-moving environment
