Student Achievement Tutor
*Annual Salary: £28,715 - £30,443 Pro Rata (£32,795 to £34,768 Full Time Equivalent)
*Hourly Rate: £23 - £25p/h
*Location: South East London
*Job Type: FT Monday to Friday term time only
Join our dedicated Student Achievement Team in an exciting role focused on supporting learners’ personal development, pastoral care, and preparation for their future steps. This position is vital for ensuring that learners receive comprehensive support during their time at college and are effectively guided towards both internal and external resources as needed.
Day-to-day of the role:
*Deliver tutorials and enrichment sessions across various subject areas.
*Engage actively with learners, facilitating group discussions on a wide range of topics including personal concerns, safeguarding issues, and broader local and national themes.
*Work closely with internal teams to coordinate support services and educational activities.
*Build and maintain effective relationships with external stakeholders, including parents/carers and external agencies, to support student development.
*Assist in planning and preparing learners for their future educational or career paths.
*Provide guidance and signposting to additional support services, both within and outside the institution.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience in engaging and facilitating discussions with young people.
*Strong ability to build relationships with various internal teams and external stakeholders.
*Experience in educational settings, particularly in delivering tutorials and managing group sessions.
*Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*A proactive approach to addressing and discussing a range of issues affecting young people.
*Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
