SEN Teaching Assistant (SEMH)
Greenwich, London
Start: Next Term
Pay: £100-£118 per day
Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young people with additional needs? We are looking for a dedicated and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEMH through school in Greenwich, supporting pupils across Primary and Secondary phases.
This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who thrives on building meaningful relationships and helping pupils overcome social, emotional and behavioural barriers to learning.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEMH needs
*Support pupils with emotional regulation, engagement and behaviour
*Build positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence and self-esteem
*Use de-escalation strategies and proactive behaviour management approaches
*Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff and external professionals
*Help maintain a safe, structured and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
*Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs or challenging behaviour
(education, PRU, youth work, care or similar settings)
*Strong behaviour management skills and emotional resilience
*A calm, empathetic and patient approach
*A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people
*Availability to commit full-time from next term
