Job Description:
An established hedge fund in London is currently seeking a Junior Execution Trader for their Systematic team.
Key responsibilities
· Execution of FX and futures trades
· To minimise transaction costs and use trading metrics to improve execution performance
· Monitor market liquidity, positions, rolls and exposures
· Ad-hoc duties such as P&L reporting and monitoring global news events and data releases
· Understand the "big picture", the implications of actions on others, compliance issues etc
· Preserving the confidentiality of pre-trade information both internally and externally
· Monitoring local holidays in traded markets; and
· Close of business tasks and end of day procedures
In addition, there will be longer term project work as the role develops.
Skills, experience, and qualifications
· Quick learner with solid problem solving and time management skills
· Strong attention to detail
· Working knowledge of Bloomberg
· Understanding of Order Management and Execution Management Systems
· Familiarity with the mechanics of FX and futures markets
· STEM, Finance or Economics graduate from a top university
· Previous directly relevant experience – at least 2 years of trading desk experience
Nice to have
· Previous exposure to systematic strategies
· Ideally a good proficiency in R
· Currently or previously FCA registered (CDF)
· STEM postgraduate degree
· Any relevant professional qualifications
