English Teacher – Secondary SchoolsLocation: South West London
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm
Contract: Full-time
Start Date: ASAP / Ongoing
About the RoleWe are currently seeking a passionate, confident, and experienced English Teacher to work across secondary schools in the South West London area. This is an excellent opportunity for an English specialist who is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and inspiring students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3/KS4).
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging English lessons that support students of varying abilities, promote literacy development, and encourage a love for language and literature.
Key Responsibilities*Deliver high-quality English lessons in line with the national curriculum
*Teach KS3 and KS4 classes, adapting lessons to suit mixed-ability groups
*Plan, prepare, and assess lessons effectively to support student progress
*Create a positive, inclusive, and structured classroom environment
*Support students with literacy development, reading, writing, and comprehension
*Manage classroom behaviour confidently in line with school policies
*Work collaboratively with department staff and senior leadership teams
*Provide constructive feedback and support student achievement
Essential Requirements UK QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – mandatory
Experience teaching English in UK secondary schools
Strong subject knowledge across English Language and Literature
Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire secondary-aged students
Confident classroom management and organisational skills
