Job Description:
We are urgently recruiting a Senior Payroll Specialist to join a highly respected global organisation for a 12-month fixed-term contract, required ASAP due to increased workload within the payroll function.
This opportunity has arisen during an important period of change and growth, including the implementation of a new benefits system. As a result, the business requires an experienced, senior-level payroll professional who can step in quickly, support the Payroll Manager, and help ensure payroll excellence across a complex international landscape.
This is an exciting chance to work within a large, international organisation supporting payroll across multiple EMEA countries, covering approximately 2,000 employees. You’ll gain exposure to diverse payroll legislations, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement across regions including the UK, Ireland, Nordics, Germany, France, Spain, Poland, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
For the right individual, this role offers:
*Strong visibility within the payroll leadership team
*The chance to make an immediate and meaningful impact
*Valuable experience in a fast-paced, global environment
*Potential for contract extension or longer-term opportunities, based on business needs
This is a senior role, not a purely transactional position. You will act as a trusted payroll expert, supporting accurate, compliant, and timely payroll delivery while contributing to continuous improvement across the function.
Key responsibilities include:
*Consolidating, validating, and submitting complex payroll inputs to vendors
*Reviewing gross-to-net calculations and payroll outputs for accuracy and compliance
*Ensuring employees and statutory bodies are paid correctly and on time
*Managing payroll onboarding and offboarding activities
*Responding to complex payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
*Supporting payroll audits, reporting, and SOX compliance
*Maintaining payroll SOPs and identifying process improvements
*Coaching and supporting knowledge-sharing within the payroll team
We’re seeking someone who is confident operating at a senior payroll level and comfortable working in a busy, evolving environment.
You’ll ideally bring:
*2–3+ years’ experience in payroll, within an international or SSC environment
*Strong knowledge of EMEA payroll legislation (Nordic payroll experience is a significant advantage)
*Experience working with payroll vendors and HR systems (Workday preferred)
*Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
*The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
If this sounds like the right role for you, please apply below.
Contract Details
*12-month fixed-term contract
*Role required ASAP due to increased workload
*Immediate or short-notice availability strongly preferred
*Full-time, fully remote
*Possibility of extension or permanent opportunities, subject to business needs and approvals
