Job Description:
A leading defence organisation is seeking an experienced Alarms System Implementation Specialist to support the design and delivery of a comprehensive, site-wide alarms management capability across high-hazard laboratory environments. This role will focus on adapting alarms philosophy and policy to meet the specific operational and safety requirements of individual facilities, ensuring compliant, effective, and sustainable alarms management practices.
The successful contractor will work closely with stakeholders to develop and implement a structured plan addressing both immediate operational needs and longer-term organisational capability uplift.
This is a contract role for an initial term of 21-months and will be based onsite at the Salisbury office, the role has a daily rate up to £670 per day via an Umbrella company (Inside IR35 - PAYE rates also available). Due to the nature of the role the successful candidate will need SC clearance, if you already have this it would be desirable.
Key Responsibilities
*Adapt and implement a site-wide alarms philosophy and policy in line with EEMUA Publication 191
*Produce clear, detailed, and practical alarms management documentation tailored to individual high-hazard buildings and facilities
*Support operators and technical teams in understanding and correctly implementing compliant alarms procedures
*Design and deliver an alarms management implementation plan addressing short- and long-term requirements
*Contribute to the upskilling of existing personnel to ensure sustainable alarms management capability across the laboratory
*Work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders across diverse operational environments
Essential Skills & Experience
*Proven background in industrial alarm systems
*Demonstrable experience applying alarms management principles in complex or high-hazard environments
*Strong stakeholder engagement, leadership, and communication skills
*Experience implementing policy, process, or operational frameworks
*Proactive, self-motivated approach with the ability to work autonomously
Technical Experience (Required)
Demonstrable hands-on experience with industrial alarm and control systems, including (but not limited to):
*Trend
*Vista
*Schneider Systems
*EcoStruxure
*Saulter Systems
Candidates must be able to interpret, configure, and optimise alarm and control platforms to support compliant and effective alarms management.
