SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Bury , Manchester
Contract: Full-time, ongoing
Pay Rate: £16.90 per hour
We are working with a number of primary schools in Bury who are looking for caring, enthusiastic, and reliable Teaching Assistants to support pupils with special educational needs.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including autism, complex learning difficulties, and communication challenges. You’ll work closely with class teachers and other professionals to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment where every child can reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities
*Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with additional needs.
*Assist in implementing individual education and behaviour plans.
*Encourage independence and promote positive behaviour and wellbeing.
*Support pupils with sensory, physical, and communication needs.
*Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure the best outcomes.
*Personal care may be required.
About You
*Experience working with children or young people with SEN. (school-based experience desirable)
*A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
*Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*A genuine passion for making a difference in children’s lives.
