Cover Supervisor – Shaftesbury
Contract: Full-time / Temporary (with potential for permanent opportunities)

A well-respected secondary school in Shaftesbury is seeking a confident and motivated Cover Supervisor to join their supportive and professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about education and keen to gain valuable classroom experience within a positive and well-established school environment.
The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a key role in maintaining continuity of learning during teacher absence. Your responsibilities will include:
*Supervising classes across a range of subjects using pre-set lesson plans
*Creating and maintaining a calm, focused and productive learning environment
*Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
*Supporting pupils to stay on task and engage with their learning
*Assisting with additional duties when not required to cover lessons
The Ideal Candidate
*Has a genuine interest in supporting young people and education
*Is confident, adaptable and able to manage a classroom effectively
*Demonstrates strong communication and behaviour management skills
*Is flexible and comfortable working across different subjects and year groups
*Builds positive relationships with pupils and staff
Requirements
*Previous experience working with young people is desirable but not essential
*A valid Child only Enhanced DBS certificate is required, or willingness to obtain one in line with safeguarding and DfE guidance

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
