About the Role - SEN Teaching Assistant - Chippenham
As an SEN Teaching Assistant in Chippenham, you will work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a variety of additional needs, including ASD, learning difficulties, and communication needs.
This role is centred around building positive relationships, promoting engagement, and supporting pupils to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs.
Key responsibilities include:
*Supporting pupils on a 1:1 or small group basis within the classroom
*Assisting with differentiated learning activities
*Encouraging communication, independence, and social development
*Supporting behaviour and emotional regulation
*Working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
*Promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
The Ideal Candidate - SEN Teaching Assistant - Chippenham
*Empathetic, patient, and proactive
*Passionate about SEN and supporting young people
*A strong communicator and team player
*Background in Psychology, Education, Counselling, Care, or similar (desirable)
*Experience in SEN, care, youth work, or mental health settings (beneficial but not essential)
Candidates with experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in support-based roles will be highly beneficial. We also welcome applicants from care, youth work, or psychology backgrounds, as well as those with experience supporting EHCP-led provision (desirable, not essential).
